Basic Needs Project 26/27
CEE Basic Needs Project (BNP)
The CEE Basic Needs Project is an international Round Table initiative designed to make a lasting difference where it matters most: meeting the basic needs of people around the world. With a strong focus on Food, Water, Health, Education, and Housing.
Last years result:
- Bakery training station in Nepal with RT Luxemburg 6.500 € will benefit over 60 people.
- 280 Water filter systems with RT Harare in Zimbabwe 16.600 € will benefit 1.120 people.
- Equipp five classrooms with RT Madagascar 15.000 € will benefit 150 children.
Only projects are accepted which are DIRECTLY run by a local RT club worldwide.
Inspired by Austria’s 90:10 model, the BNP encourages every table to continue focusing 90% of their service efforts on local projects while dedicating just 10% to international initiatives. That small portion creates a big effect: thanks to currency advantages and local partnerships, 10% of our contributions can cover up to 90% of a project’s costs in developing regions. It is a powerful way to multiply impact, bring real change to communities in need, and show how Round Table can unite across borders for a greater cause.
The BNP also strengthens international friendship and cooperation. Every selected project is implemented by a local Round Table in close collaboration with the CEE region, ensuring transparency, accountability, and direct connection to the communities we serve. Beyond delivering tangible results, the BNP raises awareness of Round Table’s values, increases visibility in each country, and helps attract new members who share our passion for service and fellowship.
By combining resources, sharing stories, and working together, we can make the CEE Basic Needs Project a flagship initiative that demonstrates the true spirit of Round Table: adopt, adapt, improve – and always serve.
